Audrey Armstrong returns to Across the Bay Tent and Breakfast for her third fish skin basket workshop. She will share her own contemporary fish skin basketry methods that she has developed using traditional Native cultural embellishments.
Her artistry has been exhibited at the Alaska Native Arts Foundation in Anchorage and the Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer, Alaska. She presented the late Fran Reed’s paper at the Textiles Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, taught fish skin basket making at the Mendocino Arts Center in California, and will present at the Indigenous Weavers Symposium in New Zealand in 2012.

The workshop runs from Friday morning June 22th until mid afternoon on Sunday June 24th. The per-person fee, $430.00 plus tax, includes: instructor’s fees, round trip water taxi transportation, meals and lodging.

After registration, you will be given a list of materials and items that you will need to bring. There may be additional fees for materials. You’ll also receive water taxi scheduling information at that time.
Your stay at Across the Bay Tent and Breakfast Adventure Company can be extended on either end for sea kayaking or other adventures for additional fees.
