Chef Sara was born In Detroit, Michigan and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She left Toronto to attend the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, where she excelled in Pastry. Her weekends were spent at the Farmer’s Market near Onion River in Vermont perusing fresh produce, maple syrup and talking with local vendors. After school, Spudowski continued to work on her craft in Vermont and on Maui, but her most extreme culinary adventures would come as a chef in Alaska.
These days, Spudowski is whipping up delightful and creative treats at Sugarspoon, a dessert café in Anchorage, Alaska that she co-owns. Away from the kitchen, she teaches cooking classes, writes a column for Alaska’s Best Kitchens and volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House in Seattle working to improve the meal program to deliver healthy meals to the families.
