$385.00/per person + tax (price includes roundtrip water taxi on Jim Lavrakas' "Skookum": Jim is a USCG captain and Skookum is insured for water taxi use).
DETAILS
The workshop runs from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. The per person fee is $385 plus tax and includes instruction, water taxi transportation from Homer, meals, rustic accommodations in large, platform wall tents, and trips to Seldovia and Red Mountain.
Retired Anchorage Daily News photographer Jim Lavrakas will show students how to make the best of outdoor locations and natural lighting to make dramatic and emotive portraits. The workshop will run from Friday evening through Sunday noon. Jim will demonstrate to students how they can scout, plan, and produce "better than studio" portraits. Lavrakas believes: "God makes better light than any studio photographer ever could. A photographer just needs to understand lighting possibilities better to produce stunning portraits in a natural setting." Students will take part Saturday evening in a critique of their work. Participants will need their own camera (digital only), flash attachment, a wide angle and telephoto lens and/or a zoom that covers that range. Six student maximum.
