Relief printing is one of the oldest printing processes in the world and still highly regarded in most of the world. In this course we will investigate the process of carving and printing relief linoleum blocks. Consideration will be given to developing an image, be it of magnificent Kasitsna Bay, the fantasies of your own imagination or a portrait of a loved one. Then we will transfer the image to linoleum and learning safe carving practices, carve a relief image Once the image is cut the student will learn various methods of printing the image on paper. Not only will you produce your own relief block and numerous prints you will also take away knowledge to continue the practice in your own home being able to print with tools from your kitchen.

The prints you make, make excellent gifts and the process allows you to produce your own greeting/holiday cards, or editions of prints. All levels welcome. All supplies will be provided however an additional materials fee will apply. Garry Kaulitz has been teaching printmaking for almost 50 years and is recognized nationally and internationally for his work.

DETAILS

The workshop runs from Friday evening July 27th until Sunday mid afternoon July 29th. The per person fee, $390.00 plus tax, includes round trip water taxi transportation, meals and lodging. A $50 non-refundable deposit due by May 28th. We accept Visa and Mastercard. At registration you will be sent a list of items to bring with you, water taxi information and an instructors materials list.

Workshop participant minimum 6 people. If minimum is not met, a full refund will be given.

Your stay at Across The Bay Tent And Breakfast Adventure Company can be extended on either end for sea kayaking or other adventures for additional fees.
